California license with minimum 5 years-experience. Experience arguing motions, taking both fact and expert depositions, and having primary responsibility for your own case load required. Absent strong writing and communication skills, well-developed organizational and time management skills, an innovative and creative mindset, and strong practical litigation skills, you will neither enjoy this position nor excel.

  • Handles all aspects of a litigation case load including client and team communication, evidence gathering, conducting both written discovery and depositions, enforcing discovery, writing and assembling mediation packages, and communicating with defense counsel and insurance adjusters.
  • Readies cases for trial including preparing all pre-trial documents, motions in limine, and preparing witnesses.
  • Supports trial team as necessary during trial.
  • Volunteers readily when team members need assistance even if the task falls outside the technical parameters of the job; seeks increased responsibilities; asks for and offers help when needed.
  • Responds to and incorporates management direction and constructive feedback.
  • Staunchly protects our firm culture and reputation.

This position requires strong organizational, project management, time management, prioritization, and communication skills. Excellent grammar and editing skills are essential. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of court rules and civil procedure.   • Accurately and timely processes case documents according to firm’s procedures;
  • Accurately and timely dockets all court and case deadlines using firm’s case management software;
  • Effectively manages time to accomplish daily tasks and duties;
  • Assists multiple attorneys during various stages of litigation;
  • Schedules depositions, meetings, and other litigation related events;
  • Files and serves court and other legal documents;
  • Professionally communicates with clients, courts, and attorneys;
  • Assists in trial preparation;
  • Has familiarity with state and federal rules, procedures, and litigation processes surrounding depositions, discovery, mediations, trials, and hearings;
  • Has ability to manage heavy workload, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure;
  • Is meticulous, organized, efficient, and flexible;
  • Is proactive, resourceful, and demonstrates strong problem-solving skills;
  • Is dependable, able to work independently, and deadline focused;
  • Assists other team members if asked, and asks for help from others when needed;

  • Handles all aspects of a pre-litigation case load including client communication, evidence gathering, writing and assembling demand packages, and communicating with insurance adjusters.
