This position requires strong organizational, project management, time management, prioritization, and communication skills. Excellent grammar and editing skills are essential. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of court rules and civil procedure. Experience Preferred:
● At least 5 years of experience as a litigation and docketing/calendaring paralegal;
● Proficient in Microsoft Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Zoom, and DocuSign; and
● Experience with Filevine is wonderful but not essential.
Qualifications:
There is no minimal education requirement for this job. But a candidate will neither enjoy nor excel at this position without strong and well-developed communication, organizational, and time management skills. Additionally, possessing an innovative and creative mindset will be beneficial to success at this position.
Job Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, a candidate must perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required to excel in this position.
● Accurately and timely processes case documents according to firm’s procedures;
● Accurately and timely dockets all court and case deadlines using firm’s case management software;
● Effectively manages time to accomplish daily tasks and duties;
● Assists multiple attorneys during various stages of litigation;
● Schedules depositions, meetings, and other litigation related events;
● Files and serves court and other legal documents;
● Professionally communicates with clients, courts, and attorneys;
● Assists in trial preparation;
● Has familiarity with state and federal rules, procedures, and litigation processes surrounding depositions, discovery, mediations, trials, and hearings;
● Has ability to manage heavy workload, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure;
● Is meticulous, organized, efficient, and flexible;
● Is proactive, resourceful, and demonstrates strong problem-solving skills;
● Is dependable, able to work independently, and deadline focused;
● Assists other team members if asked, and asks for help from others when needed;
● Seeks increased responsibilities and desires to grow;
● Responds to and incorporates management direction and constructive feedback; and
● Staunchly protects our firm culture and reputation.
Compensation:
Compensation will vary depending on experience level. The package will include a guaranteed minimum annual wage plus a performance-based incentive program that allows the motivated candidate to earn up to $110,000 per year.
