Position Summary:
The Operations Director is a mission-aligned, systems-savvy leader who ensures Coopers LLP operates with excellence, humanity, and adaptability. This role balances oversight with hands-on implementation, enabling high-functioning teams and future-ready systems. Working closely with the Managing Partner and Leadership Team, they will integrate the firm’s growth and development strategy, advance its hospitality-forward service model, and translate vision into operational clarity across the firm.
This role reports to the Managing Partner.

Operations Director Duties & Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
- Work with Managing Partner and department heads to ensure the firm’s vision, values, and goals are clearly understood and consistently expressed throughout operations.
- Oversee and continuously improve day-to-day operations across departments, ensuring alignment with firm goals.
- Lead the development and implementation of SOPs, workflows, and performance metrics.
- Build strong, cross-functional relationships across legal, administrative, and client service teams.
Project Management
- Manage firm-wide projects from planning through execution, including office expansions, system rollouts, and new service lines.
- Implement and maintain project tracking systems to ensure deadlines and budgets are met.
- Drive accountability and collaboration across all levels of the organization.
Technology & AI Integration
- Evaluate and implement AI tools and automation platforms that can enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Partner with legal teams to identify operational use cases for emerging technologies.
- Ensure responsible adoption of tech tools while maintaining compliance and security.
HR & Talent Operations
- Manage the Human Resources Manager.
- Collaborate with HR on workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies.
- In partnership with HR, ensure team structures and roles evolve in alignment with firm growth.
- Foster team alignment through structured feedback loops, cross-training opportunities, and integrated learning from post-engagement reflections.
Financial Oversight
- Partner with finance to develop budgets, track KPIs, and support forecasting.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend operational investments.
Culture & Change Management
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Lead operational change initiatives with clarity, structure, and empathy.
- Ensure operational systems contribute to a hospitality-driven client experience and reinforce Coopers’ brand values at every touchpoint.
Marketing & Communications
- Partner with the Marketing team to ensure internal communications are consistent, engaging, and support strategic initiatives and culture.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure operational updates and change communications are timely, consistent, and reflective of the firm’s values and voice.
- Support strategic growth efforts through partnership with Marketing identifying and tracking high leverage opportunities in coordination with the Marketing team and our Managing Partner.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- 7-10 years relevant operations experience preferably in a fast-paced, high growth, agile environment. Experience in a professional services organization strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success managing complex, cross-functional projects
- Deep understanding of legal operations, business process improvement, and change management
- Proven experience overseeing human resources and implementing people-focused strategies that enhance culture, engagement, and performance
- Proficient in tech platforms; familiarity with AI tools, automation, and digital transformation trends
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Leadership mindset with a bias toward action, collaboration, and problem-solving
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or related graduate degree is a plus
